Author Resources
The success of JDR and our research community relies on the publication of high quality research relevant to all aspects of the lactation sciences. We are glad to welcome you as a JDR author, and we thank you for your contribution!
JDR is a hybrid Journal
We publish standard articles completely free, without any page charges or submission fees. This includes any online colour images, although there is a fee for including colour images in the hardcopy Journal. Authors also have the option of publishing Gold Open Access. The standard fee for this is £1870. However, if your Institution has a Read and Publish Agreement with Cambridge University Press this fee will either be waived completely or discounted, depending on the individual Agreement. You can check your eligibility for free Gold Open Access here
We publish original research in two formats: Full Paper or Research Communication
Both categories have equal merit and equivalent indexing and we encourage you to choose the most appropriate for your research. We also welcome submissions of Research Reflections, which are short reviews, opinion papers or dataless papers proposing a testable hypothesis.
We also publish a variety of articles intended to add "impact beyond data"
Reviews and Editorials are published by invitation only (you are welcome to propose a topic) and we also publish a range of other submitted short articles (Research Reflections, Invited Reviews and Editorials, Special Issue manuscripts, Book Reviews, Letters to the Editor, Foreign Language Abstracts, PhD Thesis Abstracts)
There are four sections to this page:
Please be sure to refer to the correct section and use the correct form.
All of the materials that you will need as an author can be accessed from here without logging in, apart from your manuscript. To maintain confidentiality, manuscripts themselves can only be accessed from individual accounts. Once your submitted manuscript is online, you can access it ONLY from your "My Account" menu. You must be logged in to do this. If you do not already have an account, you can create one by joining JDR, or we will create one for you when you submit for the first time.
